Exmouth: immersed in the English Culture... 

Un viaggio nel cuore del Devon...

Exmouth è una piccola città del Devon che conta 32.972 abitanti, un luogo con le tipiche caratteristiche dell’urbanistica inglese che si affaccia sul Canale della Manica. Qui l’aria salmastra dell’oceano si mescola con il tipico profumo del tè inglese.

Il liceo 'Caterina Percoto' anche quest’anno ha proposto la possibilità di fare un viaggio studio in questa splendida cittadina a noi allievi e allieve delle classi quarte e quinte del LES, permettendoci di svolgere attività incentrate sulle nostre materie d’indirizzo e andare a scuola la mattina.

Il viaggio si è svolto da venerdì 5 settembre a venerdì 12. Abbiamo quindi approfondito il funzionamento dei charity shops, fondamentali per gli abitanti di questa città, ammirato la costa, visitato Bath, con tanto di guida alle terme romane, ed Exeter con la sua prestigiosa Università. Abbiamo avuto poi l’opportunitá di seguire diversi casi nel tribunale di Exeter, vedendo con i nostri occhi le differenze tra il nostro sistema giudiziario e quello inglese, avendo così una versione concreta di ciò che abbiamo studiato. Inoltre, abbiamo interagito con le nostre famiglie ospitanti, persone del luogo e studenti universitari, incrementando in tal modo le nostre capacità linguistiche.

Questa esperienza è stata di certo un modo per conoscere nuove persone, creare amicizie, applicare le nostre conoscenze e soprattutto vivere la bellezza dell’Inghilterra!

Exmouth: immersed in the English Culture... 

From September 5th to 12th, 2025 a small group of students from the LES course of 'Caterina Percoto' High School had the great opportunity to live an amazing experience in Exmouth, a beautiful town in the South of England.

All the learners attended a language school which helps foreign students to improve their English skills, and they took part in a huge amount of activities related to Business and Law. These included some workshops in collaboration with the local charity shops and with the Manor Hotel of Exmouth. Moreover, all the boys and girls had the great chance to attend a trial at the Law Court of Exeter, which helped them to better understand the meaning of what they usually study in Italy. Additionally the Italian group visited the town of Exmouth and the cities of Bath, known for the Roman Baths, and Exeter, famous for its important University. 

Being hosted by English families, finally, made this experience even more special for the students, who had the opportunity to be completely immersed in the English culture.

It was a trip full of emotions and amazing moments of personal and cultural growth, happiness and friendship that all the students will always keep in their heart.
